Detailed Job Description :

BNYM is seeking to hire a dynamic, self-motivated decision support analyst to support our non-US, International franchise. Decision Support as part of the International Management organization, provides support to local executives and the global businesses that operate in our non-US regions, and is critical in driving analysis, process improvement, financial analysis and controls, as well as delivering on strategic initiatives. 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the execution analysis on the various strategic and financial objectives
  • Assist in driving opportunities to grow the business and client revenues, including support of new products and platforms
  • Work as part of the team to help communicate strategy, option analysis, performance and priorities to a broad audience
  • Facilitate decision making and business progression
  • Proactively focus on problem identification and problem solving
  • Drive competitive benchmarking and market analysis
  • Assist in planning revenues, headcount, expenses and investment initiatives
  • Collaborate and partner to develop financial reporting and key MIS for decisions
  • Develop partnerships between business and functional teams (e.g. technology, operations, HR, marketing, etc.) to achieve objectives
  • Partner with others in Finance & Business Management (CFOs, Business Managers, FP&A leads) across regions and businesses to share best practice and drive consistency across the bank
  • Support International Finance on key initiatives
  • Support the CFO team in any administrative tasks as required, including management of meetings, assisting with any key meetings request for the CFO, taking meeting minutes and providing assistance around any material required for meetings or projects

Job Qualification and Skills Required :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related area
  • Accounting (CIMA/ACA), analytical (CFA), MBA and/or other financial professional qualification
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Good judgement, maturity and poise to enable interaction/influencing of senior management
  • Thoughtful analytical skills; able to develop, clearly present and draw conclusions
  • Self-starter; ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to handle various aspects of the project and be able to quickly adapt to changing requirements and situations
  • Disciplined approach to managing processes and controls
  • Energetic, self-motivated and effective under pressure
  • Strong analytical and data manipulation skills; proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong project management and presentation skills. 

Selection Process :

The selection process for the Specialist, Financial Planning and Analysis post at BNY Mellon includes several stages, such as:

  1. Aptitude Test Online: Candidates will have to take an online aptitude test to assess their ability in areas such as logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, and verbal ability.

  2. Group Discussion: Candidates who pass the aptitude test will be invited to participate in a group discussion, where they will be evaluated on their communication skills, leadership qualities, and problem-solving abilities.

  3. Technical Interview: Candidates who pass the group discussion will then be interviewed by a panel of technical experts. This interview will focus on assessing the candidate's technical knowledge and skills related to the Mainframe Trainee role.

  4. HR Interview: The final stage of the selection process is an interview with the HR team. This interview will focus on the candidate's attitude, motivation, and overall fit for the role and company.
